VINEYARDS

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

An old farmhouse sitting on a hill, surrounded by vineyards.
A perfect place for those wines we have set our hearts on.

Since the very beginning, the winery has chosen to work with Monferrato’s top varieties: Barbera, whose origins lies in the Duchy of Monferrato; and Moscato, an ancient variety that originally reached Piedmont from Greece, finding its land of choice in the Asti territory. The south and southeast exposure of the vineyards and the soils rich in limestone, clay, tuff rock, and gypsum give the wines a fine balance and rich, elegant aromas.

Ruggero and Orsetta Lenti have focused on traditional and environmental-friendly wine-growing and integrated agriculture techniques.  A weather station allows to optimize  vine treatments according to the temperature and humidity data reading  in real time, thus keeping environmental impact to minimum.

In the vineyards with the Agronomist

PIERO ROSEO

“Sant’Anna dei Bricchetti wines are a blend of aroma, drinkability, and freshness. These characteristics, which are strengthened by the vineyards’ exposure, are also resulting from the unique elements of this soil, mainly composed of clay and crossed by veins of sand and gypsum. With just five hectares of cultivated vineyards, we have chosen since the very beginning to focus on quality over quantity. This choice implies an exclusively manual work in the vineyards, with drastic leaf trimming and pruning, and decisive interventions with canopy management. With Barbera, the yield of grapes per vine is much lower than the amount envisaged by the appellation rules.”
